I can't speak to numbers 2 and 3, but if you research what the OSGI specification is about, it's actually nothing about web frameworks like MVC4 or any feature of MVC4 like areas. Rather, OSGI is a modular framework that allows the dynamic installation and starting of bundles. The specification also states that bundles should be able to be stopped, updated, and restarted without the host process being shutdown. OSGI is so much more than what MVC 4 can offer, they can't really even be compared. I urge anyone not familiar with OSGI to go read a summary of the specification. It's been a great platform for Java developers for years and now with this open source project, I'm hoping it can be a good weapon for .Net developers as well.
